Candidate Bios


Monique Berry

  

 

Monique Berry has been a member of the BDPA Philadelphia Chapter since 2003. Monique served as President of the Philadelphia Chapter.

Monique is employed by Vanguard; a mutual fund company located in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Her background includes experience in ERP systems, LMS systems and software development.

Monique is a committed community advocate serving on the boards of community organizations, family and children's services, and faith based community ministries. She's been a volunteer elementary school instructor for Junior Achievement and a computer instructor for Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

Monique is a member of several professional and civic organizations, including the American Society for Training & Development, Project Management Institute, Network of Women in Computer Technology, Society for Human Resource Management and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Rick Giraudy

 

Rick started his BDPA journey with the Atlanta Chapter in 1998 and attended his first conference in Atlanta in 1999.  The rest is history; he served as the Atlanta chapter VP President of Finance from 2000 through 2002 and started working with the National conference team in 2002.  In November 2002 he started filling the role of National Vice President of Finance and served in this role until 2007.  Rick was named the 2003 national Outstanding Board of Director member (co-winner) and won the 2001 and 2002 BDPA Atlanta Chapter Presidents Award.  Rick Giraudy is currently the Vice President of Finance for the Greater Columbia Chapter.  

Rick is a systems project manager for Aon Hewitt. He manages teams of people and resources involved in application development. Rick Consults with fortune 500 Companies on requirements, evaluates staffing needs, identifies training needs, and sees that related needs are met. He coaches, trains and shares knowledge with clients, systems analysis developers, and testers; works closely with team members on both team and individual concerns. Rick identifies areas for training and development of associates on his teams. He directly supervises ten system analysis, developers and testers.

In 1996, Rick received a bachelor of Computer Information Systems, from Regis University, and in 1998, earned a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, also awarded at Regis University.

Originally from Brooklyn NY, Rick currently lives in Columbia SC, married to Dr. Casey Goldston Giraudy and is the proud father of a college sophomore daughter named Rikki.

Curtis Timmons

 

Curtis currently serve as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The District comprises 7500 employees and 40,000 students and a $1 billion budget. He manages a staff of 50+ employees, $15+ million annual budget, and managed services contracts of $4+ million annually. Manages strategic partnerships (private and public sector organizations) and vendor performance and relations.

 

He is a proven business leader with 20+ years’ experience in IT strategic and operational planning, financial management, business analytics, capital and operating investment planning, IT governance, and IT service delivery. Directed organizations of up to 130 staff and 45+ contractors. Managed annual budgets of $61 million that included CAPEX to OPEX transition, capital investment prioritization using ROI, NPV and IRR valuations. Negotiated technology products and services contracts upward of $35 million. Achieved cumulative cost savings of $30 million and was awarded federal program funding of $60+ million.

 

Prior to joining Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Curtis served as President, TMS Consulting; Chief Technology Officer, Memphis Board of Education; Senior Manager & Manager, e-Business Services, Sara Lee Corporation; and a host of other corporate companies.  He is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 22 years as a Data Systems Officer.   During his military career, his received the following awards:

·         Navy Commendation Medal

·         Navy Achievement Medal

·         Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal

·         National Defense Service Medal

·         Armed Forces Reserve Medal

Curtis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Systems and Information Management from Breyer State University. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Strayer University; and completing a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Strayer University.

Maurice Trentel

  

Currently, Maurice acts as Senior Financial Information System Program Manager at Interactive Communications.  Headquartered in Atlanta, Interactive Communications is a Fortune 500 leader in global payment systems.  His organization is responsible for the delivering solutions that help deliver over $1.5 billion in annual financial transactions within the gift card industry.

Maurice joined Interactive Communications in 2015.  Prior to his role at Interactive Communications, Maurice has been an information technology and financial consultant for over 20 years.  Maurice has worked for Accenture, Deloitte, Nestle, and other consulting organizations as well as several independent business ventures.  The most recent venture is a fashion company with operations located in third world countries to assist indigenous people improve their standard of living.

Throughout his life, Maurice Trentel has had a desire and commitment to serving others.  He’s a leader in business, an active participant in his community, and global citizen pursuing solutions to global problems.   Early on, as a student at Purdue University, Maurice pursued his passion for leadership by being elected President of Purdue Student Union Board, School of Management Council, and participated as Student Member of Presidential Review Board of Administration.  Maurice has excelled academically with MBA from University of Minnesota, professionally he is an accomplished information technology manager, and socially he has worked to improve his communities as a member of non-profits, volunteerism, Junior Achievement, among many other initiatives.  In his most ambitious endeavor, Maurice is attempting to build a fashion industry within third world countries to employ indigenous people and stabilize local financial economies.

 

With a passion for his community, Maurice has maintained positions on several boards including Oracle Application Users Group, Seward Neighborhood Group (Minneapolis, MN), and Junior Achievement.  He is a member of the BDPA Atlanta Chapter.
