Outreach Department
Professional Development
The Professional Development Department is responsible for hosting the Monthly Program Meeting, seminars, workshops and certification study groups to ensure that BDPA meets its mission of strengthening the expertise of minority members of the information technology industry. In addition to technical seminars and training, the Professional Development Department hosts career nights, resume writing and other workshops to help members develop their "soft skills".
Seminars and workshops are open to the general community in an effort to fulfill our mission of "broadening the information technology knowledge of the minority community as a whole".

Professional Development Meetings are held 3rd Thursday of each month at the Offices of 5/3rd Bank - 5001 Kingsley Drive - Madisonville Office Bldg.
Communications
The Communications Department is primarily responsible making sure that information regarding the Chapter is disseminated through electronic as well as print media. Communication efforts facilitated by this Department include the following:
- Publishing the Local Chapter Newsletter, The InfoExchange
- Maintaining the Annual Production Schedule
- Maintaining the Cincinnati Chapter Web Site
- Maintaining & Moderating egroups
- Soliciting Advertisements

- Student Internship Program
- Profile/skill set database
- Corporate jobs database
- Chapter participation with information technology career fairs
- Resume critique services

careers@bdpa.cincy.orgOutreach DepartmentThe Outreach Department is responsible for community outreach programs at the both the elementary and high school levels. The BDPA Cincinnati facilitates and coordinates the following outreach programs:
- High School Computer Competition Training program
- Youth Technology Seminar Series (YTSS)
- Midwest Regional High School Computer Competition
This Department arranges facilities, books, equipment, instructors and other resources in support of these programs. The highlight activity for this Department is the High School Computer Competition. This Competition provides an opportunity for a team of students to undergo intensive training and is subsequently sent to the National BDPA conference to compete nationally for scholarship funds.
