Bio Milt Haynes, Outside Director
Milt is a highly successful executive with over 34 years of Information Technology experience, Milt joined Abbott Laboratories in 2006 as Director, IT Planning and Enterprise PMO. Milt’s primary responsibilities are to provide leadership to Abbott’s IT innovation, strategic planning, business planning, supplier management, and IT product evaluation functions. IT strategic planning function includes directing efforts in aligning Abbott’s IT strategy with business strategies, formulating and communicating Technology and Application architecture roadmaps as well as identifying IT trends and business opportunities. Milt is a sought after motivational speaker, coach and mentor and has helped thousands advance their IT industry careers. In 2007, Milt founded Blacks Gone Geek a social networking initiative dedicated to promoting Blacks in Technology. Milt uses blogs, podcasts, RSS feeds, Facebook, LinkedIn, Groupsite.com, Yahoogroups, Twitter and his web site, www.blacksgonegeek.org, to stay connected with an online community that has grown to over 5,000 IT professionals, teachers, executives and technology enthusiasts. Milt holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computing Science from Columbia University, New York, New York Outside of his professional career, Milt spends his spare time enjoying family activities with his wife and beautiful 12-year-old twin daughters, and volunteering for BDPA, IT Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) and PMI Chicagoland Chapter initiatives.

Milt has been a Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) member for over 18 years and has served as BDPA Chicago Chapter President and National BDPA President. Milt currently serves as a member of the BDPA Chicago (www.bdpa-chicago.org) Corporate Advisory Council (CAC). Milt has received over 20 awards and honors at the local chapter and National level including the most prestigious National BDPA Outstanding Chapter President Award, Outstanding Contributor Award, Member of the Year Award, President’s Award,
Service Award and the Spirit Award.
