Bio Denise Holland
Denise Holland serves as the BDPA National President. In this position, she is responsible for leading the organization and ensuring that its vision and mission are effectively realized through quantifiable objectives.
Ms. Holland has over 30 years of professional experience including Human Resource Management/HRIS, IT Project Management, IS Security Management, Change and Problem Management, and Financial Management Systems. Currently, she is the Director Information Technology - SAP for Amtrak. She is responsible for overseeing the Human Capital Management (HCM) mySAP Production System; managing Payroll, Human Resources, Time Management, and Training/ Change Management Teams; presenting system changes to senior management; ensuring departmental processes and procedures are developed; and participating in SAP project implementations.
In addition, Ms. Holland has been an Adjunct Instructor for the Baltimore City Community College, winning the “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” and “Excellence Awards.” She also serves on the college’s Microcomputer Technology Board of Directors.
Ms. Holland has a Masters in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University (AIU) (2009). She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management (1983), an Associate of Science in Computer Programming and Technology (1984), and an Associate of Arts in Business and Industrial Management (1981). In addition, she has been certified by Approva Corporation in its enterprise security controls management software.
Ms. Holland is a native Baltimorean and has been a member of BDPA since 1987, serving in various roles: Chapter President, National Director of Relationship Management, and Corporate Champion. Ms. Holland is a Graduate of the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) Protégé Program – 2007, a member of the Society for Information Management’s (SIM) 2008 Regional Leadership Forum (RLF), a member of the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) – Baltimore Chapter, and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).
