BDPA Student Intern Program (SIP)
Program Purpose
The purpose
of the BDPA Student Intern Program (SIP) is to facilitate the placement of
our talented college student members in internship positions with our Corporate
Partners. The SIP program is an excellent resource for companies to gain access
to top students of African-American descent for their internship opportunities,
with the potential of these opportunities leading to permanent employment.
While our primary goal is to prepare our college students for corporate and
community leadership, we believe that providing valuable work experience in a
corporate environment is a major step in helping them become productive
citizens in our industry and in the world.
The program
also provides students with mentors to help encourage their technical growth
and career development. The mentors will be employees of the corporations
providing the internship positions or BDPA members, provided via the BDPA
College Student/Young Professional (CSYP) Mentoring Program.
The target
market for this program is composed of our Corporate Partners, educational
institutions with Computer Science, Computer Engineering and IT related
undergraduate programs, and college students of African-American descent
seeking careers in the IT field.
The SIP
program is designed to support students by allowing them to:
·
Post their
resumes via the Internet for viewing by our Corporate Partners
